Marcy Ver Meer has been training reining horses in Arizona for 16 years. She currently trains open level horses and futurity prospects at the Bar Double C Ranch in Cave Creek, Arizona.
Her hard work and dedication has paid off. In December 2007 Marcy made the Futurity Open Finals and the Intermediate Open Finals on two of Bar Double C's three olds , Gunner's Special Night and Ruf N Dunit.
Marcy and Gunner's Special Night rode to win Reserve Champion in the Open Finals with a score of 230- the highest score any female rider has received in NRHA history!
Ruf N Dun It tied for 12th place in Intermediate Open Finals.“2007 was the year I’ve been dreaming about! It’s been my passion to be competitive in aged events and the Bar Double C Ranch helped me realize that goal. Great horses and great owners created a very successful year!
And it's not over! The Bar Double C Ranch, in conjunction with Marcy Ver Meer Reining Horses has a new crop of three year olds in training. Which ones will be at the futurity next November? We will have to wait and see.
